Green Peas with Bacon

Green Peas with Bacon

This Green Peas with Bacon recipe is extremely easy to make. Delicious and perfect for any weeknight meals.

Green Peas with Bacon

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of frozen peas
  • 3 medium carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 a stalk of celery
  • salt and pepper
  • fresh dill
  • 50 g of bacon cut into cubes
  • 150 ml of stock
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch

The first thing we have to do is to prepare our ingredients. If we have every ingredient on hand, we can finish this dish in less than 30 minutes.

Cook the bacon with the onion, carrots, and celery for 10 minutes. Add the stock or water, put the lid on and cook it for 10 more minutes. Taste it to see if it needs any additional salt. I added just a touch because the bacon I used is salty, so be careful not to add too much.

In the last 5 minutes, add the peas, the cornstarch, and the dill. After 5 minutes, turn the heat off and let it rest for 5 minutes and then, serve it.

This is such a quick and light lunch or dinner, I loved it for so many years and I still do. Most of the times I make it without bacon, but I had some homemade bacon on hand and I used it.
