I warn you from the beginning that this recipe is amazing, the chocolate, cacao, butter and amaretto give to this dessert such a fantastic taste.
I have never eaten before such a great chocolate salami.
This made it my mother in law, not me.
With this recipe, you will have 3 pieces of chocolate salami but really depends on the size and thickness.
We made 3 and you will see in the picture how thick we made them.
- 800 g of plain biscuits
- 125 g of good quality dark chocolate
- 250 g of butter (at room temperature)
- 4 tablespoons of cacao
- 150 g sugar
- 50 g of raisins
- 50 ml of water
- 1 tablespoon of instant coffee
First of all, crush the biscuits very well and then set aside.
Simmer the water, add the coffee powder and mix to incorporate.
Add the butter and the chocolate, sugar and amaretto (put as much as you want, and taste it).
Stir everything together to melt all the ingredients and to have a silky cream.
!! Use a good quality chocolate, one that you like eating it.
Pour the cream over the biscuits and mix.
If you want, you can put the raisins in brandy for a couple of days to soak, it will give them such a great flavor, and you can use those raisins to all kinds of desserts.
Take pieces of the chocolate and biscuit mixture and put it on a foil and form a salami, you can make 3 small or 2 bigger, that’s up to you.
Roll the foil very well to be compact and keep it in the fridge until is ready to be served.
Roll it in coconut flakes if you want and cut it into thin slices.
