Spelt Pudding

These days I ate boiled spelt with vegetables, I never ate before and I wanted to see how it is because I had a full bag of this spelt.
I posted here what spelt is, if you want to read it, I didn’t know what it was until I read it on the internet.
On that post I also talked about some pancakes I made with spelt flour, which I like very much, I bought that flour twice already. I can’t taste the difference that it’s not white flour into the pancakes. I use whole- wheat flour anyways to my pancakes, I like very much.

Today I thought I would try to boil some spelt and then mix it with coconut milk like I did here with white rice. I made that pudding with white rice because that’s what I had in the fridge, but I also made it with brown rice and it tastes the same.

I can find only one difference between them, spelt and brown rice are not so soft and fluffy as white rice, but that’s ok with me, I like it.

The ingredients are very simple, like always, and the directions, simpler.

Ingredients:

  • spelt + double of water
  • milk of your choice
  • a little bit of sugar, if you want
  • fruits

First of all, wash the spelt. Move it to a pan and add the water. Let it boil until is soften. You will see that will start to break a little. Don’t overcook it.

If you have some water left, throw it from the pan and add the milk, as much as you want and simmer it. I used coconut milk because I like it very much.

Move the mixture into a bowl and serve with what do you prefer, fruits, chia seeds, sliced almonds.
I put a sliced kiwi and some sliced coconut.

My husband liked it very much. πŸ™‚

  • Spelt is a new word to me, I haven’t heard it before, must look for it in the supermarket, it is the type of pudding I like, anything to do with rice.
