Delicious Pound Cake

I had in the fridge a can of condensed milk and I wanted to do something with it so I thought I would make a pound cake.

I mean, who doesn’t love pound cake? When I was younger, I would not like it, it seemed too simple, I liked things with chocolate cream.

Now I don’t like those cakes and sweets so much, I am more on the simpler side, I like simple cakes to eat along with my coffee or tea. This is not a problem of diet or that I count my calories or something like that, I just changed about these things.

This is a simple  but so delicious pound cake, you should really give it a try, you can make it so easily, just by mixing all the ingredients and baking it.

Ingredients:

  • a can of condensed milk (397 g)
  • 3 eggs
  • 150 g of flour, I used whole- wheat
  • 30 g of poppy seeds
  • 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder
  • 50 g of room temperature butter
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon zest

Preheat the oven to 180*C.

In a big bowl add all the ingredients and mix or stir with a spoon until you get a smooth mixture. That’s it πŸ™‚ .

Grease a loaf pan with butter and flour and pour the batter into the loaf pan. You can add some poppy seeds on top, I added some extra poppy seeds because my husband loves them :). Or you can leave them out if you don’t like them.

Put the loaf pan into the oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
