Spelt Breakfast Porridge

Spelt Porridge is a great idea for breakfast, for whoever wants to have a break from oatmeal. It’s delicious and nutritious.

I love breakfast very much, it’s my favorite meal of the day. I love waking up kinda early, to set my alarm clock even though I’m not working. When I wake up early, I have more energy to do stuff in the house. I like very much that time of the breakfast when I prepare for myself a bowl of something with a cup of tea or coffee.

Lately, I’ve been very much into oatmeal, but sometimes I get bored of it, so I change it to something else a few days, and then, I get back to it.  Oatmeal can be a little bland and you can hate if you don’t make it taste better.

Sometimes, to change my breakfast, I eat quinoa or spelt. Of course, sometimes I eat something else, like toast or just a smoothie, it depends on what I’m into that morning.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g of spelt
  • 400 ml of water
  • 50 ml of almond milk
  • agave syrup
  • berries of your choice
  • goji berry
  • coconut flakes
  • chia-seeds
  • pistachios
  • cacao nibs

First of all, we have to cook the spelt. I like having in the fridge a batch of quinoa or spelt and just warming it up in the morning in milk.

Today I cooked the spelt, I boiled it in water until it was soft but a little bit crunchy. This takes about 30 minutes.

I added the milk and I warmed it up with the spelt.

Add the cooked spelt and arrange your toppings how you desire and lastly, pour some agave syrup to sweeten it up a little bit.

And you made your delicious and healthy breakfast. Pour on some coffee and enjoy. 🙂
