Oatmeal with Berries

This Oatmeal with Berries has to be my favorite breakfast ever. It pairs extremely well with good, it’s a really good start for a productive day.

oatmeal with berriesOatmeal is a great thing to eat for breakfast because it boosts your energy and it fills you for a couple of hours because is slow digesting. So you will be full when it will be time for lunch.

Medicaldaily website says that oatmeal protects the skin, supports weight loss and prevents diabetes between other cool stuff, so it’s a good thing to eat oatmeal for breakfast.

I started eating oatmeal some time ago and I can’t get enough of it, I eat it almost every morning, and I change it up a bit so that I will not get sick of it. Some days I eat something else but I always come back to oatmeal.

This recipe is really simple, it’s what I like and I eat most of the time.

 Ingredients:

  • 150 g of rolled oats
  • 250 ml of almond milk
  • 20 g of sliced coconut
  • berries
  • a drizzle of agave syrup
  • chia seeds

In a small pot add the oats, agave syrup, and milk and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. Pour it onto a plate and arrange the berries on top, the coconut, and the chia seeds. Eat it while it’s hot, that’s when it’s delicious. If it gets cold, it gets kinda slimy, and that’s not pretty.

If you have frozen berries, add them to the pot and cook them for 5 minutes with the oats. You don’t have to thaw them. Serve the oatmeal with a cup of coffee or tea. 🙂

If you don’t like these toppings, you can add different kinds, whatever your heart desires. You can add just berries (which is what I do most of the time), or you favorite toppings for oatmeal.
