A-Z Challenge (Book-Dear John)
The story is about a romantic couple who fall in love over one summer. They are separated during the man’s military service. (Wikipedia)
This book was written by Nicholas Sparks and it was published in 2006. He wrote many other romance books, that are gorgeous and easy to read.
I’ve read 10 books from him, but I have a friend who loves Nicholas Sparks very much, she reads every book she can find by him.
The main characters of the story are John and Savannah.
(An interesting fact about Nicholas Sparks, that you, maybe didn’t know, is that some of the main characters of his books are named after his children).
He has 5: Miles, Ryan, Landon, Lexie, and Savannah.
John goes to the army and in the meantime, his father dies. He comes home and he eagerly searches for his girlfriend but finds out that Savannah married another man.
He’s hurt but he loves her very much and because of that, he let her go. He cared about her more than for himself.
I’m stopping here so that you’ll see for yourself what happens next.
Sparks writes romance novels that are easy to read, like summer novels so I encourage you to read this book and others from Nicholas Sparks.
Here I leave some beautiful quotes from the book.
“I finally understood what true love meant…love meant that you care for another person’s happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.”
“When you’re struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it’s just as hard as what you’re going through.”
“And when her lips met mine, I knew that I could live to be a hundred and visit every country in the world, but nothing would ever compare to that single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams and knew that my love would last forever.”
“Our story has three parts: a beginning, a middle, and an end. And although this is the way all stories unfold, I still can’t believe that ours didn’t go on forever.”
