If you want to try a different kind of hummus, try this Black Garlic Hummus on toast or with veggie sticks. You will be surprised.

I love Hummus very much, I love it on toast, on a wrap, with some veggies or breadsticks. It’s my favorite spread and because of that, I make it very often.

Today I tried something different, we have some black garlic and I wanted to see how it would turn out, and it is really good. 🙂

Health benefits of black garlic:

  • helps lower the cholesterol
  • decrease the risk of cancer
  • offers protection against infections
  • high in antioxidants

This recipe is almost exactly like this one, the only difference is that I added the black garlic and some caraway seeds.

Ingredients:

  • 150 g of chickpeas
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 2 cloves of black garlic
  • sesame seeds
  • salt and pepper
  • caraway seeds
  • water from the chickpeas

Soak the chickpeas overnight and the next day, cook them until they’re soft. Drain the chickpeas and put them in a blender with the rest of the ingredients, but save some water from the chickpeas.

Blend it until you reach the desired consistency. To have a smoother hummus, discard the chickpea skin.

Black Garlic Hummus

To try this hummus, I made myself a delicious sandwich :), with bell pepper, greens, turkey ham, and carrot.

I’ve never had black garlic before. What’s the difference between it and regular garlic?

    • It’s smoked garlic, has a smoky taste and has 10 times more aminoacids than regular garlic.

all of those ingredients are on my grocery list for next week now! This looks absolutely amazing and i’m getting a little sick of buying hummus every week when it seems so easy to make! Love it!

    • Yes it’s super simple. I never bought hummus when I know I can make it at home :).
