Puff Pastry Sticks

Puff Pastry Sticks

Puff Pastry is really an amazing ingredient in the kitchen, and these Puff Pastry Sticks are the proof. They’re easy to make and super tasty.

I love breadsticks very much, but they have to be savory, I am more of a savory person, I’m not much into sweets.

I remember eating these breadsticks with caraway seeds when I was little, I loved them, and also some Romanian scones, savory as well. These two were my favorites.

I never made breadsticks the traditional way, by making a dough. I am sure it’s not hard to do, but I chose to do them with puff pastry because it’s easier.

It’s so easy to make them, in just 30 minutes they’re ready to serve.

Ingredients:

  • 1 puff pastry sheet
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt
  • sesame seeds
  • caraway seeds
  • flax seeds

Let the puff pastry sheet thaw at room temperature, until you can work with it (30 minutes or so).

Cut it into sticks and move them onto a baking sheet.

Beat the egg and add 1/4 a teaspoon of salt. Brush the sticks with the egg mixture.

Spread on every stick the seeds. You can add what seeds do you prefer actually.

I used caraway, sesame and flax seeds, but you can add some chia or poppy seeds if you want.

Bake the sticks until they’re golden, but be careful because they will burn very quickly.

Serve them hot or cold, either way, they’re delicious. 🙂
