Easy Grapes Compote Recipe
This is an Easy Grapes Compote Recipe, that’s delicious and perfect for winter. The sugar measurement depends on how sweet is the fruit you are using.
I’m not so much into autumn because I know that winter is right around the corner, but I love it because you eat seasonal, cheap and delicious fruits and veggies. And also, I like fall, because it’s the official canning season, so I like that. 🙂 For me canning it’s like a treatment, I love it, it’s relaxing.
I ate only once grapes compote and I loved it. I had some beautiful grapes in the kitchen, so I wanted to put them to good use. 🙂
Ingredients for 3 jars (300 ml/each one):
- 400 ml of water
- 600 g of grapes
- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla powder
Wash and let dry 3 jars and lids on a clean kitchen towel. Add the washed grapes to the jars, equal amounts in each jar.

In a small pot add the water, sugar and vanilla powder. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and then, pour the syrup into the jars. Close the jars really tight.

In a bigger pot add a wet kitchen towel, add the closed jars and water to cover 3/4 of the jars, being careful not to add too much water.

Bring the water to a boil and then, let it simmer on medium-low heat for 30 minutes, when the water starts to boil. After 30 minutes, take the jars out and cover them with towels until they are completely cool. Store in the pantry.
