Fried Padron Green Peppers
These Fried Padron Green Peppers are a Spanish Appetizer that everyone loves. It’s delicious and super quick to make. You’ll feel like you’re in Spain.
Ingredients:
- 24 Padron green peppers
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- salt to taste
I haven’t tried frying other types of peppers, so I don’t know if it will taste the same. These are from Spain, they’re perfect for frying. People eat them in Tapas (little appetizers you can find in bars).
Making these is really simple, not the healthiest thing in the world, but delicious. We eat these green peppers when they’re in season, a few times, and then, we wait until the next year.
Wash and let the peppers to dry in a colander for a few minutes.

You can pat them dry with a kitchen towel as well. In a large skillet heat up a few tablespoons of olive oil, to cover the skillet. When it’s hot, add the peppers in 1-2 batches, depending on the size of your skillet. Cover with a lid and let them fry for a few minutes until they’re golden on one side.
It’s really important to put the lid on because they splatter a lot. When they’re golden on one side, flip them over and fry for a few more minutes.
When they’re done, take them out on a plate lined with a paper towel. Sprinkle salt on them immediately, let them cool for a few minutes and serve them.
