How To Easily Dehydrate Kiwi (Without a Dehydrator!)
Every winter, when kiwis are in full season, I simply love to dehydrate them. In this post, I will show you how I do it.
When you dehydrate fruits or vegetables, normally, you use a dehydrator or maybe an oven, but I’m not using any of those. Maybe you’ll say, then what you use?? I’m intrigued. You should be because I use the radiators from our house.
What?? That’s right. The radiators you use to warm your house. In the winter, you use them anyway, so why not take full advantage of them??
What I love about kiwi chips is that they taste so much like gummy bears. They’re not crunchy like potato chips are, but chewy and oh so delicious!!
For this healthy snack you’ll need:
- kiwis
- a cutting board
- parchment paper
- a knife
That’s right, you need only 4 things, and JUST 1 ingredient because we don’t use any sugar or other ingredients. And it takes just 5 minutes to prepare it.
Peel the kiwis, wash them thoroughly and slice them with a sharp knife. Arrange聽every slice of kiwi on the parchment paper in a single layer. Cover the kiwi with another parchment paper and press gently the kiwis into the paper.
Move the parchment papers on the radiator and leave them for approx. 3 days, or until they’re dried but chewy.

After those 3 days, pour the dried kiwis into a ziplock bag or an airtight container. They will last a few weeks if you don’t eat them all at once.
After you made one batch, keep the parchment papers and do a few more batches to be stocked with dried kiwis.
If you try them, I promise, you’ll be hooked and you’ll make them over and over again because they’re so good. Sweet, chewy and so delicious.聽Have you ever tried dried kiwis?

I’ve never tried dried Chinese gooseberry. What is the taste like?
silviamagda
It’s chewy and it sorta reminds me of gummy bears.

I have a dehydrator that I received as a gift for christmas which I haven’t used yet. I am also a huge fan of dried fruit. Ironically I am sitting at my laptop eating dried papaya. I’m guessing I can make your recipe using my dehydrator instead?
silviamagda
Yes!! I’m sure it would work just fine. I use the radiador because I don’t have a dehydrator.
